Day 7: Wine Tasting, Villa Touring, Golfing, and Rehearsaling

On the second morning at the Villa, we were starting to panic that we didn’t have enough water. We learned that in the town near by San Casciano in Val di Pesa, they had a free water filling station! I spent a while filling up bottle after bottle of water.

In the end, we had a bunch of full bottles of water!

While I was dealing with the water situation, Kelly was shopping at the market.

She even picked up all the flowers to decorate the table for the wedding!

While we were busy getting stuff done, these crazies were checking out a local golf course. Corey, Justin, Mandy and Johan can all now say they have golfed in Italy!

After the morning chores were complete and while the others were still golfing, we walked across the street to Villa Poggio Torselli. The walk to the Villa was lined with beautiful, tall Cyprus trees. Cy said it looked like we were walking into a movie, I couldn’t have agreed more.

We had a great tour guide that told us all about the Villa and the surrounding Chianti area.

So go ahead and feast your eyes on these:

The outside was breathtaking and the inside was fascinating and hard to capture. So I’ll just add my favorites of Conor looking studious in the library…

And Landon checking out the wine barrels

The final and most important part, the food and wine tasting. Well just food for these tasters… but they were so good while they did it.

And the rest of us enjoyed the wine lessons. We loved them all so much we decided to use it as the wine for the wedding! Thanks to all the wonderful parents!

Although it was boiling hot, we enjoyed our Poggio Torselli wine and villa tour.

But did I mention it was boiling hot… we may have almost killed some of the crew.

You can probably guess where the next stop of the day would be…

Everyone jump in!

Or take a snooze - pool adjacent

After bringing our body temperature down a bit, we all dressed up a little and started rehearsing.

And then it was time for the rehearsal dinner - pizza!!!!

The chef brought the pizza oven with him and every single pizza he cranked out was delicious.

Especially the Nutella dessert pizza!

Thanks to the parents again for hosting a delicious rehearsal dinner. And Janet specifically for the music and chicken dancing!

It was a wonderful night of preparation. We bring on the rain and cooler weather that tomorrow is promised to bring.  Tonight was the last night these dresses will have to wait to be worn. We bought them almost a year ago. Tomorrow is the big day!
