Day 10: Biking around Tuscany
Today we did a 22 mile bike tour through Tuscany. Yes I said 22 miles and yes Tuscany is very hilly. If you are thinking we’re crazy, you’re right. Except for the fact, we did it on some super cool e-bikes (pedal assist).
This is Mossimo from Toscana by Bike. He coordinated the most beautiful day and made us feel safe even when we were on major roads. That was an unbelievable feat given he and his team were leading 16 adult riders, 4 kid riders, 3 kids in trailers, and 2 adults riding in the van.
With all these people, you can imagine there was a lot of time needed to get us all ready.
But a few pictures later, we were zipping away
Along the way, Mossimo’s team gave us some breaks to enjoy the surroundings and of course snap a few more shots.
They even had killer photo skills. “Everyone raise your hands and cheer.” Brantley and Ava?
So much pretty everywhere!
Most people learned how to use their fancy e-bike…
For most of the ride, we circled this castle.
And these almost 12 year olds kicked this ride’s butt. They even did better than all the adults.
When Mossimo explained the tour to me, he mentioned a light lunch to do a wine and olive oil tasting. He way under sold it! He organized a private multi course meal in the most beautiful hilltop location just for us.
Marissa modeling the white wine and the view…
Corey hating his rose all day life…
The kids squishing Tia…
Our wonderful crew enjoying the lunch and tastings with us.
It was absolutely perfect!
We rode a while longer
And then ended the fun the best way possible - gelato!
Thank you Mossimo and Toscana by Bike. It was everyone’s favorite part of the trip (after the wedding of course, they say nervously).
After hours in the hot Tuscan sun, the next stop was predictably the pool.
Another great day!
