Day 3: Cascais Explorations
Good morning Cascais!
I’m not sure I have ever seen Brantley not be able to wake up. He wasn’t ready to say good morning to Cascais.
Started the morning with a quick coffee and pasteis stop.
Our first destination was Boca do Inferno (Mouth of Hell), Brantley was not sure he wanted to go when Nana translated this for him. On the way, we walked through one of the Cascais neighborhoods checking out the houses and figuring out which one we would buy. The walk was well worth the views.
The mouth of hell
Justin and Brielle wondering if it is as bad as it sounds.
On the way back to city center, we walked along the coast and checked out our first castles.
And found a peacock friend.
And the kids swam in the Atlantic - poor Brantley even a little dazed out while in the ocean. Zoomed in on him from the apartment balcony.
MO didn’t go out exploring with us in the morning, so we did a little more adventuring with him. Ended up at Boca do Inferno again!
MO’s favorite view
The evening we spent in the apartment enjoying a fundraising concert for Ukraine. We didn’t know any of the songs and couldn’t understand the words, but it was a lively experience. Here is Kris raising her arms yelling with everyone in the crowd below:
By the evening, it was packed with people! We all think we had the best seats in the place.
We have been counting down the number of people who need to make it safely to Europe for the festivities. Today, the Hills arrived in Paris! Running arrival count:14 of 25. Yay!!!
Tomorrow - castles, castles, castles
